In this episode, Jane is joined by Professor Cathryn Edwards, consultant physician and gastroenterologist. Cathryn is the first female Registrar of the Royal College of Physicians and was the first female secretary of the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) and its second female president. Jane and Cathryn discuss Cathryn’s career journey from nursing and then becoming a doctor, through to her leadership positions. Cathryn’s talks about the challenges she has encountered along the way and what has helped her overcome them, including the support of her family, amazing women role models and knowing the contribution you are making.
