In this episode of The Balance we dive head first into what it looks like for us to find rest as working Moms. In a world that perpetuates constant stimulation with demands at every turn, where gratification is instant and self care the last in a long list of to do’s, we discuss the consequences of prioritizing ourselves last.
By its very definition, self care is about taking action to preserve and improve our health and well being. We talk about how taking care of our needs isn’t a one size fits all approach. Consequently, filling our personal joy buckets looks a bit different for each of us in this season of life.
The truth is….. when it comes to the everyday juggles of balancing motherhood with trying to grow our business, there will always be something else we ‘should’ be doing. Admittedly we realize that putting ourselves on the back burner while prioritizing every other need or demand will lead to a perpetual cycle of pouring from an empty cup and ultimately, emotional burnout.
Maybe our definition of self care will evolve as we navigate our different phases of motherhood and business. We plan on holding each other accountable as we make a consistent effort to carve out that time for ourselves.
Listen in as we dive into how we aspire to define self care on our own terms and continue on our journey to find….The Balance.
