In this episode of the Hybrid Cloud Forecast series, Andre talks to Jason McGee, IBM Fellow, VP and CTO, Cloud Platform about IBM Cloud. They discuss how to build, operate, scale and secure applications across a combination of on-prem, cloud and edge locations and the challenges with building such applications.  They talk about the cloud as a manifestation of the as-a-service consumption model at the infrastructure and application layers and how  more and more customers want technology as a service.   They touch upon the fact that some aspects of application development have not changed for hybrid cloud, but application developers now need to be intentional about the features they use on clouds that are specific to particular clouds. They discuss how to migrate  monolithic applications to the cloud, and how the gitops model is gaining popularity as customers push as much of the operational lifecycle into the toolchain that leads into production.
