Paladin Gideon Block kneeling in the chapel as part of the Long Vigil for the Oath of the Silver Star looks back on his life growing up near the frontier town of Zison and then his marriage to a woman before tragedy struck. Halfling druid Poppy Tealeaf remembers the night she was given news which would change her life forever. A young Dwarven Sorcerer Mak'ren Stoneshaper tries to impress his clan as a crafter, but his magical shortcuts might have created an unknown disaster. Half-elf Rogue Xonimus going the needle for special tattoos from flashes back to his time as a bandit in the Frontier where everything seemed right with the world.
