Dave Schmelzer (Blue Ocean Faith's executive director) discovered personality profiles when he joined his first Christian group after a previous life of atheism. And what he discovered was that Christian groups seriously love these things. From the Myers-Briggs to the DISC test to Strengths Finder to the motherlode--the Enneagram--he discovered that learning about the Bible and about God also seemed to involve learning about his and others's personalities.
