Do you wonder if you have the approval of God? Do you struggle with the thought of others approving of you?

Do you ever feel like you're trying to seek the approval of your friends or family or even your co-workers? But do you ever wonder if you've got the approval from God? This week's message is titled Approval from Galatians chapter 1 verse 10. “Am I now trying to win the approval of the human beings or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

One thing we need to remember is we can't please people all of the time, but we sure do like to try. Whether it be our friends, our family, boss, or neighbors, we want the people in our lives to give us their seal of approval. And with that, we worry. Are we saying the right things? Are we wearing the right clothes? Are we doing the right things? If they knew what I really thought, would they still accept me? It's understandable that we want people to approve of us, but as servants of Christ, we must take a different path. We will only experience true peace when it is God's approval that we pursue. And the things that God approves of often runs contrary to the ways of this world. So be prepared for conflict. But just as we place God's opinion above the opinions of those around us, he will continue to draw us in until we hear him utter the words, “well done, good, and faithful servant.” That's from Matthew chapter 25 verse 21. You do have God's approval. No matter what you've been through, no matter what you're going through, you have his approval. And his approval is the only thing that matters. Of course, it feels good when our friends and family give us their approval of us. But ultimately, as servants of God, his approval is the most important one.

So let me pray for us. God, help me to seek your approval above man's. Help me to understand that your approval is the only one that matters in my life. No matter what I'm facing, no matter what conflicts I'm going through, or no matter what negative thoughts there may be, your approval is the only thing that matters. And I know that you approve of me and you love me so much. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
