In today’s episode I’ll read from the New Testament Book of First John with chapters 4 and 5. I’ll read Psalm 106, and I’ll continue the Old Testament book of Second Chronicles with chapters 19 to 23.
I’ve been asked if its appropriate to listen to Bible readings
as a sleep aid. Is it disrespectful to God? There are many sleepy podcasts out there so its not as though we don’t have a choice.
I believe that God doesn’t mind at all if we take comfort and rest from His word, rather than from hypnotic quasi-spiritual mindfulness techniques, perhaps of dubious origin. So I read you the scriptures to music in a sleepy
manner, and hope that you find some rest here, and that God might use this time to bless you as only He is able.
So, breathe slowly for a bit, and let your body release any tension left there from your busy day. Curl up and get comfy, as I read episode 103 of Sleepy Scriptures.
