Join me this week to meet the first Hollywood Movie Star! Encouraged by her mother to go into theater acting to help support her family when she was a little girl, Mary found that she loved to be on stage & enjoyed performing. Working her way through traveling stage troops and Broadway, Mary decided to try her talent at film. The camera LOVED her... and so did her audiences. Her contributions to the film industry are sometimes overlooked (she was just an "actress" after all), but when we learn her story we can see that she had a passion and understanding that far exceeded what was captured on film.
