Episode 11: At The Table with Kaitlyn Shiess on Christian Formation, Identity, & Politics

Listen Later

Kaitlyn Schiess sits down for a conversation on belief, politics, and spiritual formation. She shares with us how the political landscape has changed in America, the factors that led to it, and how Christians have the opportunity to think critically and wholly on where their identity lies, how their beliefs help them to engage social and justice issues, and most importantly, how to practically approach polarizing conversations with both conviction and grace.

Kaitlyn Schiess is an author, speaker, and perpetual theology student. She is the author of “The Liturgy of Politics: Spiritual Formation for the Sake of Our Neighbor” (IVP, 2020) and the forthcoming “The Ballot and the Bible: How Scripture Has Been Used and Abused in American Politics” (Brazos, 2023). Her writing has appeared in Christianity Today, The New York Times, Christ and Pop Culture, RELEVANT, and Sojourner. She has a ThM in systematic theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and is currently a doctoral student in theology at Duke Divinity School.
