2 years ago I found myself in a dark place. So many of the things that I believed made Leslee, Leslee were gone and with it my identity.
It's a jarring place to be when you don't know who you are any more or where you're headed. I always thought therapy was for those in crisis and well... I found myself in one.
In this episode, Alma Miller, LPC joins me to discuss what we may not be looking at that attributes to how we relate to ourselves, others, and even to the Lord.
Maybe you're like me and didn't like the idea of blaming my childhood for my issues, but it was clear, although I had a beautiful upbringing, there were times I felt mismatched or detached from my caregivers.
These "little T" traumas matter and they mark you until you are brave enough to uncover them, feel them, and heal from them. That's the most redeeming part of my story in all of this. The amount of repair that has taken place between me and my family is redemptive!
Do you feel lost, stuck, and afraid to address the pain of your past? Whether it's big or small they matter to God and He desires to see you free.
Take a moment with me to consider what's on the other side of your pain. Hope is always present!
