The year is done, or nearly so — and now we turn our staff's attention to the next book, and building a solid foundation with their theme. In this episode, we visit with Carrie Faust, the adviser of Summit, the yearbook at Smoky Hill HS (Aurora, Colo.). Carrie is another of the 'Yearbook Besties,' who have what I regard as the single best stragegy to use in guiding a staff's theme development: "story, words, pretty."
Recipient of the JEA Medal of Merit in 2013 and JEA's 2009 Distinguished Yearbook Adviser of the Year, Carrie is an articulate and passionate instructor at camps, workshops and conventions nationwide. Her students' books have won Gold and Silver Crowns and Pacemakers, as well as numerous local awards; she's giving podcast listeners a preview of "Yes. All That.", Summit 2018, via this link: tinyurl.com/ybkwhysep11.
