We really were spoiled for scrolling shooters in the 16-bit era – I know that I had a pretty serious investment in the genre back in the day. Among the very best of them, for me, were three Mega Drive titles from Masaya: Target Earth, Gynoug, and Gley Lancer. These are vibrant, intense games with soundtracks to match!
