Nursing is a HUGE healthcare sector, today being represented by my colleague, friend, and soon-to-be-Dr. Kevin Brunacini.
Kevin lost over 120 pounds and KEPT IT OFF for over 6 years! Through this transformation, it was NOT a linear process; there were days he lost weight followed by some days he did NOT lose weight or even GAINED weight! In fact, there were even WEEKS when the average weight fluctuation was not down, but an actual weight gain! BUT, overall, throughout the entire process from the start over 6 years ago to the present day, he lost over 120 pounds!
Setbacks, “failure”, and using your obstacles as the path to progress-
THAT is what we are going to talk about in this podcast: HOW to do that, with simple, practical, and real-life tips you can use as a healthcare professional to bounce back and stay on track with your journey toward living your best life in health.
About Kevin:
Residing in Northern Kentucky, Kevin Brunacini is a licensed and certified family nurse practitioner, a personal trainer, and operates his consultatory weight loss practice, The Diet Doc. Once morbidly obese, Kevin can relate to the importance of nutrition and sustainable behaviors to keep the weight off. Our country doesn’t have a weight loss problem, but rather a weight maintenance one. He knew in order to help his patients develop healthier lifestyles, he would need to do the same. Over the course of four years, Kevin lost 121 pounds - and has kept it off for nearly 6 years - through healthy, sustainable lifestyle modifications, and established himself as a health leader. Kevin’s clinical experience has focused primarily in endocrinology and is currently pursuing further studies to earn his doctorate (72 days left). Other than a passion for nutrition and school, Kevin is happily married, has two extremely spoiled black labs, and is an avid bass player and singer.
If you are looking to make changes to your current lifestyle, to your health, whether that be to lose weight, gain muscle, or just adopt heathier habits irrelevant to weight as a number, you WILL experience setbacks along the way.
That is to be expected, that is normal and part of the process- but what we NEED to be able to do in order to reach our goal is to push through those setbacks and progress with progress!
