Episode 11 - The Wells Gray Park Murders

Listen Later

In the beautiful sweeping landscape of the Wells Gray Provincial Park in east-central British Columbia, Canada, one would usually find endless waterfalls, mountains and hiking trails for days. But in August of 1982, the scenic views of the park was interrupted but something much more sinister and awful when the bodies of a family of six were found dead in their burned-out car near Battle Mountain road while on a camping trip.

Upon inspection by the police, it wasn’t the fire that killed the family, but shots from a .22 caliber gun – not an accident, but a murder. The scene shocked police and the surrounding community, and investigations were immediately under way.

Who would have committed such a heinous crime – and why?
