The story of Ruth is a beautiful account of acceptance. In her acceptance she is paid further along with saving grace. The character discovers in helping a recovery home by the name, there a secret element in restoring one’s soul in sobriety. “It is better to give than receive” is not just an encouragement or truism to be morally better. In helping, there is a greater benefit than the giving for the giver.
Addiction recovery requires finding you are loved and are lovable by G()D, so you can treat yourself better.
