"Quirky, loveable, and above all human, this novel of small-town life in the 1930s is an immersive experience that will leave readers reeling and wanting more."
Our fiction buyer Ali Hammond chatted to Annie Barrows, author of the Ivy & Bean children's series and co-author of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, about her new solo fiction book, The Truth According to Us. She spoke about the differences between writing for adults and writing for children, and gave us an insight into how she immersed herself into 1930s American society. She also told us about her journey from working in a library at the age of 12 to being a published author.
