If you don’t ask, the answer is already “no”.  

Many of us have been in the position where we have wanted something but were too afraid to ask for it.  Maybe it was a promotion at work, or a date with someone you really liked.  Whatever it was, you hesitated, and now you're left wondering what might have been.  

As Nora Roberts once said, "If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no.  If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place."

We all know it is easy to come up with excuses for not asking.  Maybe you don't want to be rejected, or you don't think you're good enough.  But the truth is, you'll never know unless you try.

So, if there's something you've been wanting, go after it.  Ask for it.  Don't be afraid of rejection or failure.  You never know, and you might just surprise yourself. Even if you don't get what you want, at least you can say that you tried. 

Don't be content with staying in the same place.  Take that first step and see where it takes you.
