In 2013 Burchett robbed three California banks over a one month period to fund his spiraling out of control opiate addiction. He was finally apprehended after a high-speed police chase which resulted in Burchett being shot multiple times by two deputies. He spent over five years in a California state prison for his crimes. But now, Nolen is clean and sober for years and is the Executive Director of Touchtone Recovery Center in Fresno California.
