Essah Cozett Diaz is a Liberian-American poet, podcaster, and PhD candidate specializing in Literature and Language of the English-speaking Caribbean at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. Her research is rooted in storytelling, migration, and African tradition healing practices. Currently, she is serving her second term as Chair of the Caribbean Without Borders Graduate Student Conference. In 2016, she founded Hermanas Del Agua to create a safe space for women to practice strategic self-care in Puerto Rico. Her writing has appeared in several international print and online publications. She loves encouraging others to move forward with ease in pursuit of their dreams.
