Most of us know the story of how Moses struck the rock at Horeb and brought forth water for the Israelites. It may seem strange to us, then, that when he does almost the same thing at the rock at Meribah, God not only gets angry, but punishes him by not letting him enter the Promised Land! What was up with that?!
