Despite the recent end of the so-called longest economic expansion in modern U.S. history, the data reveals continued widespread inequality, with over 70% of the nation's total wealth being held by the nation's top 10% of wealthiest people. These data precede the COVID-19 pandemic, so the reality is likely even worse.
