Special Olympics Florida invites the local community to get involved and participate in the Pensacola Race for Inclusion. This race and fundraiser will support Special Olympics Florida athletes and champion the mission of inclusion and acceptance. It's 9:15 a.m. on  Saturday, Oct. 8 at University of West Florida – Rec Plex North.  Day of registration starts at 7 a.m.The Race for Inclusion is a statewide campaign supporting the athletes of Special Olympics Florida, seeking to build communities of inclusion and acceptance for people with intellectual disabilities. The campaign features a series of events taking place across the state from September to December.My guest Harrison Mauldin began running with Special Olympics Florida in elementary school, and he hasn’t stopped since. Sprints, middle-distances, long-distances, half-marathons. You name it, and there’s a good chance that Harrison has competed. Running and training helped him focus and put him on a path to improve his health and mental wellbeing. “Running,” he says, “is great for the mind, body, and spirit.”He’s won his share of medals and ribbons, including two golds at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games, and received the key to the city to his hometown.  To learn more, visit www.specialolympicsflorida.org.
