Every Opportunity
Acts 16:11-15, 29-40
After Paul's vision of the Macedonian man, the team's goal was to preach the gospel in Philippi. While God went before them, the mission was not always easy. On one hand, there was a woman named Lydia who was the first recorded Christian convert in Europe. She treated the missionaries with great hospitality.
On the other hand, a demon-possessed girl taunted Paul and the others until he exorcised the spirit. That led to a whole new round of persecution that included an illegal beating and false imprisonment.
Yet, through it all, Paul and his team never lost sight of their mission. At every turn, they took advantage of opportunities to share the gospel.
