Retired Brigadier General Rebecca Halstead was the first woman graduate in West Point history promoted to the rank of general in the U.S. Army. Halstead entered West Point in 1977 and was the second graduating class to include women.

Halstead’s book The First Person You Must Lead Is You details leadership principles derived from her 27-years of military service that are applicable to civilian organizations.

Her combat experience included leading logistical support for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
