For the first time ever, my wife and I will be away from both of our children for a night. We are not nervous though, because our children are in the best of care with someone who will care for them like her own. We trust her, and our children must obey her until we return. Well...Christ has left elders to serve as stewards over his church until he comes again. They are to protect, feed, and care for the God's children as trustworthy men, and we are to submit to them just as we would to Jesus.
