Welcome to a mini-history lesson about the music of Trinidad 🎶. This episode is all about calypso which has a rich history that is evident in many of the songs politically and socially aware lyrical content. It's music you can dance to.. with a message! We listen to all the greats - Calypso Rose, Mighty Sparrow, Lord Kitchener and all of the other Mighty's & Lords and of course Harry Belafonte (Rest in Peace ❤️). The history of calypso music is super interesting so I recommend listening or reading more about it even if you may not be interested in Caribbean music (although you should be cause it's great 😉).
