As 2017’s Low-Power Image Recognition Challenge (LPIRC) Moderator, Ryan Dailey has unique insights into the ins and outs of this challenge, its long and short-term goals, and how these goals could help to not only improve image recognition on mobile platforms, but also improve technology as a whole. LPIRC, coming up on 18 June 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah, encourages competitors to use different ways of looking at power consumption in computational devices while using visual recognition to identify as many images as possible.
