The series continues with tips on regulating life.

timetabling seems such an obvious um discipline in terms of successful business and the entrepreneur and it seems as if you know we are generally quite timetabled as human beings but actually we're not and when we start to look at the way we timetable our our activities and our lives we can soon start to see that we're not producing to maximum effect and there are several reasons for this the people that i've met and interviewed the successful business women the millionaires the people that do very well for themselves they do share this um skill for time management they seem to be better at managing their time than most of us a lot of us are restricted by things like um work uh you know if you if you're working for example um not for yourself but for somebody else at the same time as you're trying to be you know launch a product or launch a business or you know create your first million that's going to be something that you is out of your control but if you're a self-employed person and you've got all three 24 hours in a day it's quite a lot of hours and you often hear don't you you hear people saying oh there's not enough hours in the day well there are actually there are enough hours you just have to work out a way of managing them better

so the first thing really is i've spoken before about delegating dedicated is very important part of time management work out if you can you know if if you need a cleaner because you need an extra hour can you earn more than the cleaner will earn in that hour that you're going to give yourself so you can work these things out and even if you can't earn specifically during that hour but the knock-on effect of giving you that extra hour is going to be worth more than 12 pounds or whatever it is you're going to pay a cleaner then it's worth doing isn't it um the other thing with for a lot of women that i've spoken to um working out at child care husband care which is just seemed to be an inherent repeating issue still in this day and age women are more responsible before you know housekeeping basic house skills it's not as bad as it was in the 50s but you know we're not quite there yet and this is a big problem can you sit down with your partner your house sharing people

you know what whoever's impacting on your time and can you divvy things up a bit better it's really important to do that of course other people may have different standards so they can let things go that's been a problem as well women can feel very proud about the home about the way their children dress about cleanliness about appearances etc etc and and sometimes because of that because you know these things are so important to us because we're judged on it repeatedly and other people are not so willing to step up and that's problematic so are there other things that you can do to free up uh your time i i mean you know this can be as basic i had a client actually who um had her laundry done at the laundrette and it this it was a service wash and it wasn't very expensive when everything was done and it freed up such a lot of time um and another possibility is with the food prep you know there are ways that you can improve on food prep um or other than the the obvious uh go-to which is takeaways which are very you know they're expensive and they're not very healthy um what else could you do i mean salads are very healthy and they don't take very long you know these are things that you can overlook because you don't think they're particularly valid but they are they're really valid the other thing i've noticed with millionaires they work when everyone else is asleep

as well as when everyone's awake but they utilize hours so getting up really early or staying up late it seems to be a pattern getting up early is a great one because it means you're fully prepped for the day and you've set up your um you know the activities that are...
