Nashville based Angelina Burnett is a longtime writer for both episodic television and feature films. Some of her writing credits include AMC’s HALT AND CATCH FIRE, which ran on the network from 2014-2017 and Starz’s BOSS, starring Kelsey Grammer and Connie Nielsen, which ran for two seasons. This summer she sat down with GlobeScreen Director of Podcasts, Zef Cota, to discuss her long journey into film and television writing, from NYU through to her start as an assistant in LA. She also explores the evolution between broadcast, cable and streaming in the television industry, including some of the challenges of being in a writer’s room on a network show. Plus, advice for new writers breaking into the industry.
