About a year ago Dave was diagnosed with ALS.   ALS is an incurable disease. We all have a ticking clock – his diagnosis is forcing him to face his in a very real way. As he says… his clock is sitting on the table in front of him.

precious and brief life became infinitely more precious and incredibly brief.

Instead of succumbing to the depression, anger, and hopelessness this

debilitating fatal diagnosis often brings, I immediately decided to begin

“Dying Out Loud,” – living life to the fullest and making plans to travel as

much of the world as my body will allow. 

I wanted to see places to which I’d never been and spend time with

people I know and love, while also experiencing the joy of meeting new people

and cherishing the beautiful “moments” life offers all of us.” (From Dave’s web

He travels calling his tour, Dying Out Loud.  He is going where he is invited all over the world to share his experience and message.

This unexpected path has found him giving purpose and

inspiration to many to live their life a little more fully and mindfully.

Dave has an interesting

history of being former conservative Evangelical pastor and church

leader for almost 40 years. Death looks very

different to him now as an atheist.
