When you think of “abuse,” you picture bruises, yelling, or explosive anger. But for many Christian wives, the abuse they endure looks nothing like that.
In this episode of The High Ticket Woman, we dive into a form of harm that is rarely talked about in the church and often misunderstood: subtle abuse—the slow, quiet erosion of a woman’s emotional, spiritual, and relational safety.
You’ll hear a composite story drawn from real women I’ve counseled—women who weren’t being hit or screamed at, yet were shrinking a little more each year under criticism, dismissal, spiritual manipulation, financial control, and the kind of “jokes” that humiliate instead of uplift.
Most of them didn’t recognize it as abuse.
Because it didn’t look like abuse.
They loved their husbands.
They were taught endurance, silence, and submission.
They feared judgment, confusion, or breaking their family apart.
And in many cases, the church unintentionally reinforced their pain with simplistic advice:
“Pray more.”
“Submit more.”
“Be patient.”
But God never asked a woman to erase her voice to preserve a marriage.
In this episode, we break down:
This is not an episode meant to condemn husbands or justify divorce.
It’s an episode meant to bring discernment, wisdom, and light to places where the enemy thrives in confusion and silence.
If you’ve ever felt small, erased, or unsure if what you’re experiencing “counts,” this conversation is for you.
And if you’ve walked through abuse in a previous relationship and are now rebuilding a new marriage, I’ll show you why healing your emotional safety is essential—because unhealed wounds always show up in new covenants unless they are addressed with intention.
You deserve safety.
You deserve clarity.
You deserve a marriage where your voice matters.

And let’s bring hidden hurts into the light—together.
