Providers are more concerned with selling “service” than managing your device. First-time iPhone users are not shown how to turn it on!A second essential is not an App at all.  it’s a VPN setting for your smart device. Virtual Private Network & yes you have to pay for it. There are several but I recommend Avast or Norton each will protect up to five devices & if you have family sharing engaged you can include your spouses' device! Every smartphone user needs a password manager & David Pogue recommends DashLane.In case you’re not familiar with David Pogue he wrote The Missing Manual Series or “the book that should have been in the box”. As I remarked when I met him “Yeah but the box would have to be bigger!” Join me for a Wizard Of iPhone Special 06 - 06 - (20-23) when I tell the story of my longest day, chasing the sun across the Pacific Ocean.
