Krysta, Laura and Dean gather this week to discuss the mythology and folklore of gremlins, but first Krysta drops some weird facts about hygiene. So maybe put down that office coffee cup and use some hand sanitizer after you push that elevator button before we discuss this phenomenon that began in the 1920's but really came into it's own during World War II, We discuss the first literary appearance of the gremlin in 1938 as well as Roald Dahl's book about them as released by Walt Disney in 1943. We discuss the life of World War II pilots as well as their status among WWII soldiers (here's a hint, basically they were the Jedi Masters/Sith Lords of WWII depending on whether they worked for the Allies of the Axis). We discuss how the RAF addressed worries about the strange creatures, how they were seen by pilots as well as those working in Airplane factories and how the creatures sabotaged some pilots while appearing to help others and how they appeared to both Allied pilots as well as their foes. Then, of course, we discuss their appearances in pop culture and discuss whether there is anything to worry about while you are flying to Grandma's or Vegas or wherever you go on vacation, in this folklore heavy episode!
