After entering a fast and a season of repentance, the Levites confess God's manifold goodness and wickedness. Nehemiah had rebuilt the city's gates, and now they declared their loyalty to God and sealed it in writing. When we write, we establish a personal covenant of what God has done in our lives and publically declare it to the world.
