Ancient World

Episode 13 - Canto II. Entering the moon like "water takes in light", and expanding the mind.

Listen Later

In Canto 2 we learn from Beatrice how the Divine Essence is shining and spreading through the whole of the Creation in a variety of qualities, and blended with the heavenly bodies - like the moon.

Dante is encountering a big mystery when he enters into the moon as a solid body, and how he fails to understand rationally how two solid bodies can be in the same space at the same time. This makes him ponder the nature of dualities, and the nature of the Divine realm of Paradise.

A part of the effect of this canto is to start the process of expanding your own thinking, and showing the recurring theme of Dante's inability to formulate clearly all of his experiences in his journey in Paradise.

Thanks for listening,
and enjoy!
