Episode 13: Expedited Advance Parole Requests Approved
For the first time since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic last year, USCIS field offices are now accepting in person applications for expedited advance paroles (Form I-131) under exigent circumstances.
In this episode, Joseph shares how the firm successfully obtained expedited advance parole documents for a family who needed to depart the U.S. immediately for emergency medical reasons.
The firm scheduled the emergency appointment, prepared the advance parole applications with detailed documents of the emergency, and successfully presented the case before the USCIS District Director who approved the applications on the spot.
The clients who are applying for their green cards are now able to safely leave the U.S. with their advance paroles in hand so that their pending I-485 applications are preserved upon their return.
