In this episode of the Network Connections podcast, Joanne Rabbas from Café Lorae here in Geelong delights us with the different slices of flavours they offer while she narrates how this wonderful little Café on Moorabool Street came about to totally replace their major means of livelihood and so much more. Watch the Video Show Highlights Some of the highlights of this episode include:Joanne started in the Food Industry at the age of 14 and she has managed Pâtisseries and did a lot of catering for big catering firms and did weddings and debutantes and managed Strikers Tavern at the bowling lanes in Belmont and worked at Wendy's. She said that Café Lorae is unique because they are different from everyone else - doing home-style cooking in the city - cooking everything fresh on the premise every morning, every day.Café Lorae is proudly supporting Camp Quality in Geelong - where there's around 50 families in Geelong that are registered with Camp Quality that have children struggling with some kind of cancer. They started with only 2 slices when Café Lorae opened but Joanne already had fun sharing her experiences with other business owners when she did her 10 minute talk in BNI opening it with, "You go shopping for shoes and clothes. I go shopping for food."  The slices will form the product line of a new business "Urban Slices" to be launched soon.
