At the beginning of 1999, a ship sailing on the Vistula River in Krakow, Poland, had something strange stuck to its propeller. Closer examination revealed it to be a woman's surgically excised skin. Had the murderer been copying Buffalo Bill from the film Silence of the Lambs, released eight years earlier?
