Happy Pride Month, y'all!
Before the month is out, it would be a crime not to take a look at the queer influence in horror over the last century.
We start with a look back at what is widely considered on of the first Queer-horror films - The Bride of Frankenstein. As an openly gay man in the 1930s, James Whale's contribution to horror is nothing less than significant, and absolute worthy of a look.
We follow up the classic with Spiral - a more modern take on what, sadly, life was and can be like living as a gay man, but with a folky-horror twist.
A lot to discuss and opinions to be had, but there's no denying the importance of these films in the horror world. Hope you enjoy!
