Episode 13 - Self-Publishing Moth

Listen Later

In this episode, the CU group decides to finally get into the topic of self-publishing and crowd-sourcing sites such as Indiegogo and Kickstarter. The episode kicks off with the usual stories of our weekly adventures, which ends up leading into a discussion of “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic,” and whether it has held its own against time. The Xbox One’s self-publishing rights are talked about as well as our thoughts on Microsoft allowing developers to use the Xbox One as its own development kit. A discussion about the differences between graphics and aesthetics of a game is something that is touched upon, as well as the differences between “cloned” games and games that utilize game mechanics of other games and improve upon them. And the big meat of the conversation is about crowd-sourcing sites such as Indiegogo and Kickstarter, and the pros and cons of crowd-sourcing in a digital age.
