One Part Podcast's Should I Be...?

Episode 130: Suicide Prevention + Mental Health Awareness With Dr. Jennifer Ashton

Listen Later

This week, I’m talking to Dr. Jennifer Ashton. Dr. Ashton is the Chief Medical Correspondent at ABC News, one of the country’s leading voices in women’s health, and a board-certified OB-GYN. She’s the author of the new book, Life After Suicide: Finding Courage, Comfort & Community After Unthinkable Loss and host of the Life After Suicide podcast.

In this episode, Dr. Ashton and I discuss the stigma that suicide survivors face (and how we can shift this), the healing power of community after loss, the importance of teaching our children about mental health and illness, distress tolerance, and how best to support suicide survivors.
