John 15:13

"No one has greater love than to give up one's life for one's friends"

As Jesus prepared Himself and his disciples for His death, He said these words. These words of sacrifice and love. And while, in the moment, He was preparing Himself for what was to come, these words were chosen carefully for all of eternity as a prescription to live Christ-like lives. So on this Memorial day may we remember Jesus and His sacrificial love. May we remember those men and women who throughout our history have had Christ like courage to do something brave, who have stood tall in the face of adversity to love others, many, people they would never know.
