People from all walks of life make many “claims” which are not true! It is human nature to make false claims about himself and his achievements in life. More importantly men make false claims about their nature and behaviour! This is what is condemned and corrected in the 1 epistle of John. Men claim to be ‘sinless’ or claim to achieve ‘perfection’ in life contrary to the teaching of the Word of God. Too many false claims abound in Christendom today. This leads to self-deception, self-destruction and blaspheming the name of God. Instead of making all big lying claims it is better to confess our sins, our wrong doings and seek the forgiveness of God. It is blessed to be forgiven and cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. This leads to have ‘intimate felloship’ with God. Let us learn from the Scriptures to live right. May the Lord help us to do so. Amen. SDG.
