Good evening, listeners! We have an excellent episode for you this week, as host Richard Aldous speaks with Theda Skocpol about America’s dual political insurgencies before discussing a plan for a new grand strategy for America with Mark “Puck” Mykleby.

First we’re joined by Theda Skocpol, the Victor S. Thomas Professor of Government and Sociology at Harvard University and director of the Scholars Strategy Network, to discuss America’s recent experience with insurgencies in both political parties. She makes the case that though Donald Trump secured his party’s nomination while Bernie Sanders failed, it may be Bernie who has the longer lingering impact.

Then, Puck Mykleby, Co-Director at Strategic Innovation Lab, Case Western Reserve University, comes on the show to speak about his new book, co-authored with Patrick Doherty and Joel Makower, about formulating a new grand strategy for the United States in the 21st century, with an emphasis on sustainability as a national strategic imperative.
