That’s it, that’s our thesis. 1999 was crazy full of unique studio movies that would likely never see a green light in today’s franchise-driven climate: The Matrix; Office Space; Fight Club; Sixth Sense; American Pie; Being John Malkovich; Three Kings; Magnolia; Eyes Wide Shut; and more. The films are weird, personal, periodically profane, and often darkly funny. And their legacy remains.
