In today's episode, we sit down with ENERGYbits® founder and algae expert, Catharine Arnston. We hear from Catharine all about algae, specifically the two different types of algae Spirulina and Chlorella. Spirulina, one of the oldest forms of life on earth, is a blue-green algae that is known to give you energy. Chlorella, a green algae with an extremely high concentration of chlorophyll, is known to build the immune system and remove toxins out of the body. Used in Japan for years in a powder or capsule form, this new to the US supplement is really a food. In the "You Want Me To Do What??" section, Shanna talks about her experience with both spirulina and liquid chlorophyll. She does agree with Catharine that after taking chlorella for a while, it feels like a 'shower from the inside'. Nicole tried out chlorella after a night of drinking, and saw mixed results. Either way, Nicole and Shanna are sold on the health benefits based on all the research and Catharine's enthusiasm for this superfood.
