Kara and Kylie are talking about self-sabotage and The Upper Limit Theory in this week’s episode.
If you have ever felt guilty about being the smartest person in the class or had a great day only to ruin it later with negative thoughts, you are falling prey to self-sabotage and The Upper Limit Theory. We say that we want to be happy, but when we get close to it, we sabotage ourselves because we don’t actually believe it’s possible.
This comes from many different feelings and learnings. It can come from fear, self-doubt, or our ego setting off the fear of the unknown. You need to know your potential and lean into it. It can also come from your need to stay in a comfort zone. Then there’s the things we are taught by the media, often with the words “I’ll be happy when.” There’s always something to chase, whether it’s the perfect body or the perfect job.
Both Kara and Kylie have experience with self-sabotage and still struggle with it sometimes. It’s an ongoing learning and awareness process, and likely always will be. It’s important to recognize these self-limiting beliefs in your own journey so that you can work to control them rather than letting them control you.
