Animation Cel-ery

Episode 14 - Canadian Content

Listen Later

Happy Canada Day, everybody! We're showing respect to our home and native land by looking at some of the many, many great animated shorts produced by the National Film Board of Canada this week. First, we'll examine a mere two of the tremendously funny cartoons by Richard Condie, namely The Apprentice and Getting Started. Can an idiot surmount the seemingly impossible obstacle of a single tree? Can another dude surmount the equally impossible obstacle of his own lack of motivation? Then we'll watch Claude Cloutier's modern take on classic fairy tales in Sleeping Betty, in which Betty sleeps and awaits Prince Charles... er, Charming. And finally, Zviane's lil cartoon Sweet Childhood shows us why you should NEVER listen to tapes you recorded 30 years ago. I wonder if this podcast will embarrass us in 2051.

Cartoons in this episode: "The Apprentice"; "Getting Started"; "Sleeping Betty"; "Sweet Childhood"
