Episode 14 – Houston, Leipzig, and everything in-between w/ Rev. Dr. Robert Moore

Listen Later

This episode features a conversation with Rev. Dr. Robert Moore. At home in Houston, Texas, Robert Moore is a pastor at ELCA: the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, which is the largest Lutheran denomination in the US.

Since he first came to Leipzig in 1994, Robert Moore has been a vocal supporter of the sister-city relationship between Houston and Leipzig. From 2016 to 2019, he served as the reformation ambassador of Leipzig. He is also a founding member of the German-American Institute Saxony.

In the conversation, we cover topics ranging from his work in Houston, Leipzig and Wittenberg, and the differences he sees between the US and Germany in terms of religious engagement. We also talked about megachurches, the political influence of evangelicals in the US, and, of course, Houston!
