In this episode of Majestic Wisdom Podcast Heather co-creates with Dr. Elisabeth Sharp McKetta. Elisabeth is a storyteller who has authored ten books, including her first novel, She Never Told Me About the Ocean, which debuted in early 2021. She teaches creative writing at Harvard Extension School and Oxford University.
By exploring why we tell stories, when we start, and how they work on an individual and collective level, Elisabeth shares insights gained through personal experience, and her work within memoir and myth, to take you on a journey of how story shows up in your daily life, around you, and through your being.
Elisabeth also talks about the crucial element of layered stories that shaped her novel, what it's like to tell a story when you don't know who the audience is, and brings forward the concept of archetypal energies within storytelling. Together, she and Heather weave cycles of birth, death, and rebirth into the conversation and question if memoir and myth are separate at all, or merely threads of the same universal tapestry.
Heather also offers a plant spirit reading in relation to this work. We hope that this podcast will inspire you to think about the stories you were born into, those that have shaped you, and to tell the ones that want or need to be expressed through you.
